A few things to know

Is this an official Plaud product?

No. PlaudFree is an independent third-party tool and is not affiliated with Plaud. You manually export and import audio; no Plaud account connection is required.

Where do my recordings go?

Audio, transcripts, and summaries are stored in Documents / PlaudFree on your Mac by default. Transcription sends audio to Alibaba Cloud Model Studio; summarization sends text to DeepSeek. Local storage does not mean fully offline processing.

Can I download it now?

The current early development build targets Apple Silicon Macs. Public downloads are being prepared; a signed, notarized installer with all required dependencies is not available yet.

Which languages and platforms are supported?

This website is available in Simplified Chinese and English. The desktop app currently targets Apple Silicon Macs. Website language options do not indicate desktop UI or transcription language support. Other platforms have not been released.

What is coming next?

The website offers a test sign-in flow with Clerk. Desktop account integration, local models, and mobile share import are still planned.
